What personal data we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

1. Who we are

xGreen provides greenhouse automation hardware and software, including an optional cloud service reachable at cloud.xgreen.tech. This policy explains how xGreen (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use our website, apps and cloud service. The data controller is [xGreen legal entity name and registered address]. If you only run the module and app on your own local network, your greenhouse data stays on your own equipment and is not sent to us.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use xGreen, we may process:

  • Account and contact data — the email address and any details you give us when you register, request a quote, or contact support.
  • Greenhouse and device data — when you use the cloud service, sensor readings, relay/actuator states, rules, schedules and event logs from your module.
  • Billing data — subscription status and payment records. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store your full card number.
  • Notification data — if you enable push alerts, the technical subscription your browser provides so we can deliver them.
  • Technical data — basic logs such as IP address and timestamps needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to provide and operate the service, show your greenhouse live and act on your rules, process subscriptions, send the alerts you asked for, provide support, keep the service secure, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your greenhouse data for advertising.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the service and billing), on the basis of your consent (for example push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time), and for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and working. Where the law requires it, we rely on your consent.

5. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us run xGreen, under appropriate agreements:

  • Payment processing — a third-party payment provider (Stripe) processes subscription payments.
  • Hosting — our cloud servers, which store the data needed to run the service.
  • Weather data — a weather forecast provider supplies forecasts for your set location; we send it coordinates, not your identity.
  • Push delivery — your browser or operating-system push service delivers notifications you opt into.

We may also disclose data where required by law.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Live telemetry is kept at full detail for a limited window and then summarised or deleted; account and billing records are kept as long as your account is active and for any period the law requires afterwards. You can ask us to delete your account data.

7. Security

We protect your data with encrypted connections, access controls and other safeguards appropriate to the risk. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected, or your data erased;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time; and
  • lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

9. Cookies & local storage

Our public website does not use cookies. It only stores your language choice and a few display preferences in your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device and is not used to track you. A cookie is used solely when you sign in to the cloud app or the content admin — a single session cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies anywhere.

10. International transfers

Where a provider processes data outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, to protect it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, let you know through the service.
